How to navigate this site:
1. Start with Read
The story provides the source material for all arts activities (kids will READ the DIGITAL FLIPBOOK as well as LISTEN to the AUDIOBOOK)
2. Kids CHOOSE or Teachers/Parents ASSIGN one arts activity, after reading the story.
After a child completes an activity the child can choose another activity or teacher/parent can assign a subsequent activity. It’s up to YOU.
Recommended:
THINK is the recommended activity to follow READ as it provides an introduction to the social and emotional themes of the story which can be used later for the other arts activities. But it’s totally UP TO YOU – You can start with ANY of the activities. They all are INDEPENDENT.
SONG: We recommend that the SONG activities be done BEFORE the THEATER activities so the kids can learn the songs prior to putting on a show. However, if the kids choose to perform the show without the songs, then the THEATER activities can be done any time and re-visited if you choose to add in songs after they do the script and role-play activities.
Saving the children’s work and emailing teachers/parents:
THINK and WRITING sections will provide an OPTION for kids to send their digital work via email to the classroom TEACHER or HOME SCHOOL PARENT. This will provide a way to SAVE a child’s answers/writing as well as a way to track activity completion.
The Dance, Theater, Song, sections encourage kids to video, record, and upload a video or recording of their dance, performance, songs, artwork, and email/share it with the teacher or home school parent via email. These videos or recording soundtrack files can be shared with class members as part of the Picture Books & Arts Experience
